Where we get the data from

All information on this site has been collected from sources within the public domain. For example, the following are used: regulator websites, operator reports, operator and supplier press releases & operator websites.

How we assign tiers

We assign tiers for all bookies based on their online market share within the listed jurisdiction:

  • Tier 1 – Greater than 10% market share in that jurisdiction
  • Tier 2 – between 1% and 10% market share in that jurisdiction
  • Tier 3 – less than 1% market share in that jurisdiction

We assess market share using a number of sources, such as: regulator reports; company reports; web traffic statistics.

Revenue figures

All revenue figures on this site are as stated by the regulator or monopoly organisation. Currency conversions to Euros are done at the exchange rate at the approximate time of publication.

Products and channels offered

Product and channel availability are taken from regulations where published, but assumed from what is offered by the operators within those jurisdictions otherwise.

How overrounds and RTPs are calculated

Overrounds are calculated as the sum of the inverse of decimal odds for all selections within a market. For example:

Home: 2.10, Draw 3.50, Away 3.25

Overround = 1 / 2.10 + 1 / 3.50 + 1 / 3.25 = 1.07

RTPs are calculated as 1 – ( ( overround – 1 ) / overround )

For example, using the market above:

RTP = 1 – ( ( 1.07 – 1 ) / 1.07 ) = 0.935 or 93.5%

This RTP calculation is only valid for virtual sports markets where margin is applied linearly.
